On Saturday 11 June, I and the whole Kazzoo team, took part in an amazing experience to raise funds for a local charity that we support, Alex’s Wish.
The National Lift Tower in Northampton stands at 127m high and we, as part of a team of 27, were planning to scale the side of this huge building. Unfortunately, despite the bright sunshine, the winds were quite strong so we were not allowed outside. So we did it inside instead! We will not be defeated! It was great that we had this option as we did not want to disappoint all those that kindly sponsored us. Everyone did it, despite some nerves and we raised nearly £12,000 between us. Thanks to Heidi from Alex’s Wish who was waiting with welcome cocktails at the bottom. They were very much appreciated.
Emma Hallam, Founder of Alex’s Wish and most importantly, Alex’s Mum, told us that all the money raised will be put towards a research project that is being carried out into how best to administer Gene Therapy to boys with Duchenne. To find out more, see their website https://alexswish.co.uk/.
A huge well done to all that took part. We plan to do it again next year and get down on the outside next time. If you fancy joining us, let us know!
